Initially known as the “722s,” the 922 can be thought of as a 722 with Sling technology built in.
The information here is based on SatelliteGuys.US Team Summit 2008 coverage, Multichannel News article Innovation Shines in Nashville, and assumptions that features of the 722 will carry over.

- 2 HD satellite tuners
- No OTA tuner but the MT2 tuner module can be added. With this module both TV1 and TV2 can watch separate OTA channels at the same time. The tuner also adds a modulator which can output video signals
out to channel 2 or 3 for home distribution. (Info quoted from SatelliteGuys.US Team Summit 2008 coverage, and assuming it builds on the 722k architecture.)
- 500GB hard disk drive, 350 hours SD or 55 hours HD in user space (may get 1TB), will come pre-loaded with name HD movies
- Front features al touch technology with no buttons and is backlit instead of using LCDs
- New user interface which takes full advantage of HD resolutions
- Improved guide which offers more information and channel logos
- Clip and Sling which will let you send clips to friends
- Sling Catcher to view content from other sources
- Built-in browser, which will be deeply tied to Yahoo and only go to certain sites
